The owner's binding undertakings
We undertake as follows: 1. That during our lifetime or until the object is disposed of by sale, gift or otherwise: 2. To keep the object in the United Kingdom and not to remove it temporarily except for a purpose and a period approved by His Majesty's Revenue and Customs ("HMRC"), 3. To take reasonable steps for its preservation 4. To take the following steps to secure public access to the object: a. The object will be on permanent loan for public display at the National Museum of the Royal Navy, Portsmouth for a minimum of 28 days a year ("the loan arrangement") b. If the loan arrangement is terminated either by us or by the museum, we shall agree with HMRC alternative arrangements for providing comparable public access. We understand that a failure to institute a suitable replacement arrangement within a reasonable period of time will constitute non-observance of this undertakin…
